MiCA Compliance Tracker — Exchange License Status (2026)

Which crypto exchanges hold a valid MiCA CASP license? Which are pending approval? Which have no EU license? Essential reference for EU investors ahead of the July 1, 2026 deadline.

BitcoinMarket.net Research Team  ·  Tools

The Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation requires all crypto exchanges operating in the EU to hold a valid CASP (Crypto-Asset Service Provider) license. The full enforcement deadline is July 1, 2026. After that date, any exchange without a CASP license will be legally required to cease operations for EU users.

This tracker provides a regularly updated reference table of the MiCA CASP license status of the most widely used crypto exchanges globally. Use it to verify whether your exchange will remain accessible in the EU after the July 2026 deadline — and to decide whether you need to take action before then.

📅 Last updated: April 23, 2026

How to use this tracker: Find your exchange in the table below. If it shows ✓ CASP, you are good — it is licensed to serve EU users after July 1, 2026. If it shows ⌛ Pending, it may continue under transitional rules but has not yet received final approval. If it shows ✗ No CASP, consider transferring your assets to a licensed exchange before the July 1 deadline.

✓ CASP Fully licensed under MiCA
⌛ Pending Application filed, awaiting approval
✗ No CASP No known EU MiCA license

What Does Each Status Mean?

✓ CASP — MiCA CASP Licensed

The exchange holds a valid MiCA CASP (Crypto-Asset Service Provider) license issued by a national EU financial regulator. This license grants a full EU passport, meaning the exchange can legally serve users in all EU member states after July 1, 2026. Licensed exchanges are subject to MiCA obligations including capital requirements, custody rules, conflict-of-interest policies, and DAC8 tax reporting.

⌛ Pending — Application Filed

The exchange has submitted a formal CASP license application to a national EU regulator and is currently awaiting review and approval. Under MiCA transitional provisions, exchanges with pending applications can continue operating for EU users until a final regulatory decision is made. However, if the application is rejected, the exchange will be required to stop serving EU users. Watch for updates from the relevant national regulator.

✗ No CASP — No Known EU License

As of the last update date, no MiCA CASP license or pending application is publicly known for this exchange. After July 1, 2026, these exchanges may be blocked or restricted for EU users by their national financial regulators. EU investors using these exchanges should consider moving assets to a licensed platform before the deadline. Continuing to use unlicensed exchanges after the deadline may carry regulatory risk.

What Should EU Investors Do?

With the July 1, 2026 MiCA deadline approaching, here is a practical checklist for EU-based crypto investors:

  • Check your exchange: Find it in the table above. If it shows ✓ CASP, you are covered for legal EU operations post-July 2026.
  • If your exchange is ⌛ Pending: Monitor news from that exchange. Most will either receive approval or have a migration plan in place. Ensure you have completed full KYC on that platform.
  • If your exchange is ✗ No CASP: Strongly consider transferring your assets to a licensed exchange before July 1, 2026. Waiting risks sudden access restrictions or withdrawal freezes if the exchange is required to exit the EU market.
  • Diversify across licensed exchanges: Consider holding assets across two or more MiCA-compliant platforms to reduce single-exchange risk.
  • Review DAC8 implications: MiCA-licensed exchanges are required to report your transaction data to EU tax authorities under DAC8. Ensure your tax declarations are consistent with your exchange activity.

Important: If you use an exchange flagged as ✗ No CASP, there is a real possibility that access to your funds could be disrupted if that exchange is required to exit the EU market. The safe approach is to transfer assets to a licensed platform well before the July 1, 2026 deadline. Self-custody hardware wallets (Ledger, Trezor) remain fully unaffected by MiCA.

How Often Is This Updated?

This tracker is reviewed and updated monthly, or whenever significant MiCA licensing news occurs (new approvals, rejections, emergency suspensions). The licensing landscape is still evolving rapidly: several exchanges have applications under review, and new approvals or rejections are expected throughout 2026.
